The Pastor's Greeting
Within our many journeys in life we encounter good days and tough
days; good weeks and tough weeks; good years and tough years - to say
the least!
Our Lives are often like sailing the open seas:
Times of clear sunshine, cool breezes and calm swells
AND THEN
Times of heavy rains, gale winds and crashing surf
- Sometimes, all happening in the same trip! -
At Lighthouse Assembly, we strive to touch every person, right where
they are, by offering them "An Assurance of Hope in Life's Journey"
Imagine yourself just cruising along on calm glassy waters, when all
of a sudden (in what seems like out of no where) comes a fiercely
powerful storm that overwhelms your rather defenseless vessel. Your
visibility is diminishing, as the wind and waves are increasing. As fate
would have it, then comes the age-old confrontation from some of the
most defeating realities that your mind can conjure up - those thoughts
and emotions we all know as - fear, anger, clouded dreams and fading
hope, to name a few! Just then, as despair is tightening it's grip, you
see a great 'flash' out of the corner of your eye. It flashes
through the fog in timely sequence, as reality quickly hits you -
there's not only hope, but true salvation to be had! For just
beyond what the eye can see is a "Lighthouse" projecting it's message so
gloriously, of which its effect upon you is immediate, as with razor
sharp reflexes, you steer toward that wonderful refuge you've just
discovered on the edge of the horizon. At that moment it hits you with a
powerful jolt of truth - you now know that your going to make it
through!!
Whether your "life's journey" has been smooth sailing, or something
far from it, it can be wonderfully assuring to know that there's a
Lighthouse nearby to plot your course - - - and the Name of
that Lighthouse is JESUS!
